The patient journey

Considered at every stage. Rushed at none.

A course of apheresis is a process, not an appointment. From the first conversation to aftercare, each stage is planned, explained and documented, so that you always know where you are, what comes next, and why.

Medicine, technology and personal care in Munich

A look at our premises, treatment areas and medical infrastructure in Munich.

Step by step

Five stages of care.

  1. Stage 01
    01

    Consultation

We begin with a thorough conversation. A physician reviews your medical history, previous findings and current medication, and discusses whether apheresis could be appropriate for your situation.

This is also the moment to ask questions. You leave with a clear understanding of the rationale, the alternatives and the limitations.

    45–60 minutes
  2. Stage 02
    02

    Laboratory work-up

Before any treatment, we establish a baseline through laboratory testing and, where relevant, further diagnostics. This confirms the indication and lets us tailor the protocol to you.

    Same day or scheduled
  3. Stage 03
    03

    The treatment session

On the treatment day you rest in a comfortable chair while the apheresis circuit runs. Most patients read, work or simply relax. Our nursing team monitors you continuously throughout.

You may feel cool or notice mild tingling as fluids are exchanged; the team adjusts the process to keep you comfortable.

    Typically 2–4 hours
  4. Stage 04
    04

    Observation & discharge

After the session you are observed briefly to confirm you are stable and well. We provide clear aftercare guidance in writing before you leave.

    30–60 minutes
  5. Stage 05
    05

    Aftercare & follow-up

We stay in contact through follow-up review, repeat laboratory testing where indicated, and coordination with your referring physician. For recurring treatments, we plan a schedule that fits your life.

Practical matters

Good to know before you come.

What to bring

Recent medical reports, a current medication list and any prior apheresis records. Wear comfortable clothing with easy access to the arm.

Eating & hydration

Eat normally beforehand unless told otherwise, and arrive well hydrated. We provide drinks and light refreshments during your session.

Getting home

Most patients feel well afterwards, but we recommend arranging transport for your first session until you know how you respond.

Companions

You are welcome to bring one companion. Our team can also coordinate with family or carers where helpful.
